We are looking for someone short term to lead in a number of maintenance tasks at our client’s site in Hackney. Initially for 4 weeks but there is a strong possibility this will be extended.
The individual would need to have a basic understanding of electrics, plumbing, carpentry, painting and decorating, carry out first-line diagnostic maintenance checks, conduct low level repairs & handyman jobs and assist the site Residence Manager and/or Specialist Contractors when required.
It is important to note that the person needs to be happy to move furniture – so would not suit someone with back problems! The person needs to be happy to undertake a variety of tasks and have a friendly team spirit.
Plumbing: unblocking sinks/removing taps/ washer replacements/ TVR repairs/replace showerheads
Carpentry: Replacing doors/handles/furniture repairs/adjusting doors/drawers
General: Minor tiling repairs/stocking flats with cleaning materials etc/replacing mattresses & Fridges/ Putting up noticeboards/ cleaning grounds and hedges
Compliance: Checking site documentation is up to date/emergency light testing/ weekly fire alarm tests/fire doors checking
Salary circa £15 per hour. Immediate start if possible!
