Job Title: Boutique Manager
Location: Knightsbridge, Ladies Ready to wear – Designer Boutique
Good Salary and Team Bonus
Our Client has expressed in her own words the person she is looking for;
You won’t have a big team to manage and we don’t have KPIs but you will be responsible for looking after our beautiful boutique as if it were your own and working closely with the owner/creator of the brand and the rest of the small team,to grow our designer women’s clothing and accessories business to the next stage. (Last year we grew by 100% and we think we can do that again – with the right person.)
Superb customer service is paramount as is a love of selling, never by being pushy but by reading exactly what the customer is looking for and by gently suggesting alternatives, until she has what she wants. You need to be good at working with confident and successful women as well as being able to put at ease more nervous customers who find decision making difficult.
You will need to be very organised and have a good memory. Keeping track of the appointments, on-line sales, alterations and special makes for customers can be challenging, especially when the shop is busy. There is also the social media to think about, to ensure that the guy who looks after this is kept up to date with images of new products,so that you can maximise sales via these channels.
When the boutique is quiet you will need to be looking at who shopped this time last year and hasn’t been in yet and who you should you call about the new collection and encourage to come and have a look.
Most importantly you need to really like what we sell, it’s not high fashion, it is luxury, timeless, elegant clothing and handbags.
You may be working somewhere where you don’t feel appreciated or able to contribute as you want to, either as a manager or an assistant manager but wherever it is you will have had lots of experience selling high end women’s clothing. If you are currently working in a department store, the good bit here is that we open from Monday to Saturday and from 10.00am to 6.30pm so no late-nights or Sundays to worry about and only every other Saturday.
Ideally you will have 3 – 5 years previous Retail Management experience
